The company was founded and is owned by Sarah E. Peck who has nearly
30 years of experience in homebuilding and real estate development. Prior
to forming Progressive Housing Ventures, Ms. Peck was President
and CEO for 15 years of Rouse/Chamberlin Homes in Exton, PA. Under
her leadership, the company built close to 2000 homes in more than
20 communities in the Philadelphia suburbs and gained a national reputation for its
corporate mission: building communities in
a social -- not just physical -- sense. As a result of the company's
progressive approach to the homebuilding business as well as it's financial
success, Sarah Peck was named "National Builder of the Year" by
Professional Builder Magazine (pdf) and the company was named "America's Best Builder"
by Builder Magazine and the National Association of Homebuilders (pdf).
Sarah Peck writes and speaks on the subject of infill housing development and
its growing acceptance in suburban communities. She has been a contributing author to
the Urban Land Institute and the Tri-State Real Estate Journal and an Adjunct Professor
at West Chester University. She has served as a Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank
of Pittsburgh. She co-founded the Housing Partnership of Chester County as well as
Commercial Real Estate Women-Philadelphia and serves on several civic and professional boards.
